Files and folders
Installed program
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
~/.curiosity/spark/ |
The program folder: spark, spark-runner, the CUDA kernels, the native libraries and wwwroot/, the console. Replaced whole on an upgrade. |
~/.curiosity/bin/spark |
The launcher on Linux and macOS, shared with curio and the Orchestrator. |
SPARK_INSTALL moves the root from ~/.curiosity. In the Docker image the program is in /app.
State: SPARK_STORAGE
Default ./storage. In Docker it is /data.
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
db/ |
The RocksDB database: model records, API key hashes, the request log, events, nodes and join tokens, and download jobs. |
models/ |
The GGUF files (SPARK_MODELS_FOLDER). |
kvcache/ |
KV snapshots, one folder per model (SPARK_KV_CACHE_FOLDER). |
fleet.key |
The key that seals fleet secrets. |
Download jobs keep .partial files next to the model they download until the file is complete.
Back up db/ and models/ to keep keys, history and the library. Protect the whole folder like a secret: it holds the key hashes, the request log and the fleet key. kvcache/ can be deleted at any time. It is rebuilt as conversations return.
Configuration files
A spark.json or spark.yml in the working directory supplies settings. The key names are the variable names.
SPARK_ADMIN_PASSWORD: choose-a-long-password
SPARK_PORT: 8080
Prefer environment variables for secrets, with the file readable by one user only.
