Error while updating the app: Curiosity cannot be closed

When attempting to install or update the Curiosity app, you might encounter the following error:

"Curiosity cannot be closed. Please close it manually and click Retry to continue."

This error occurs because the installer is unable to automatically stop the running Curiosity application. To proceed with the installation, you need to manually close the Curiosity process.


To resolve this issue, follow these steps to manually close the Curiosity process using Task Manager:

Open Task Manager:

Right-click on the taskbar (the bar at the bottom of your screen).
Select "Task Manager" from the context menu.
Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager directly.

Locate the Curiosity Process:

In Task Manager, click on the "Processes" tab if it is not already selected.
Search for "Curiosity" on the top search bar, and click on "Curiosity" in the list to highlight it

End the Curiosity Process
After selecting the Curiosity process in the list, click the "End Task" button located at the bottom-right corner of the Task Manager window. Confirm if prompted to ensure the process is terminated.

Open Task Manager and close the Curiosity.exe process

Retry the Installation:

Return to the installer window where you encountered the error message and click the "Retry" button to continue with the installation.
