Can I connect a network folder to Curiosity?



Yes, you can connect a network folder to Curiosity if it's visible as a folder in your file explorer (i.e. mapped as a local drive).

To connect a network folder to Curiosity:
Click the + button next to Computer in the left menu
Check the folders you want to connect, or select others by clicking Add Others
Click Close

Your folders will appear under Computer in the left bar and your files will be searchable (as soon as they're indexed).

Can I connect external folders to Curiosity?



Yes, Curiosity allows you to connect external folders from an external HDD / SSD / USB flash drive / memory stick.

To connect external folders to Curiosity:
Make sure the external drive is connected
Click the + button next to Computer in the left menu
Check the folders you want to connect, or select others by clicking Add Others
Click Close

Your folders will appear under Computer in the left bar and your files will be searchable (as soon as they're indexed).

💡 On macOS you may need to enable Full Disk Access for Curiosity: Here's how
You should be able to index everything once and then search it even if the external drive isn't connected anymore - though you won't be able to open the documents if the drive is not connected.
We cannot guarantee how Curiosity will behave if you disconnect the drive while the app is still running.
