Search Relevance Tuning
Achieving good search results usually requires iterative configuration.
Iterative Boosting
Review the boost weights of your fields in Management > Search > Full Text Search. Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the weight of individual fields. If users are finding too many irrelevant results from a Content field, consider lowering its boost relative to a Summary or Title field.
Hybrid Search
The best results often come from combining full-text search with AI search. Full-text search handles exact matches (model numbers, proper names, identifiers) well, while AI search surfaces conceptually similar content even when exact keywords are absent. Configure both under Management > Search and enable chunking for longer text fields to make full use of the embedding index.
Synonyms
Define synonyms under Management > Search > Predefined Synonyms to improve recall for domain-specific terms, abbreviations, or common variations used by your audience. Synonyms ensure that a search for one term returns results containing equivalent terms.
Searchable Toggle
For each indexed node type, the Searchable toggle controls whether it appears in the default workspace search results. Disable this for internal or reference node types (like Manufacturer or Status) that you use for filtering but don't want to surface directly in search results.
