How to use the AI Assistant (ChatGPT)

The AI Assistant in Curiosity is here to save you time and speed up your work! Access it with a handy shortcut, and call up AI capability, auto-responses to emails, answer questions, and more.


It lets you:

  • Talk to your files
  • Generate text and ideas
  • Summarize texts or documents
  • Get translations
  • Generate code
  • Generate tweets or posts
  • Spell-check documents


Whether you're looking to generate and re-write ideas, access past conversations, or achieve inbox zero, we've got you covered. Let's get started!



⚠️ The AI assistant may occasionally provide incorrect information, so please verify facts independently before making decisions.


How to Enable the AI Assistant

The AI assistant is disabled by default in Curiosity.


To enable the AI assistant:

  1. Open Preferences by clicking the cog (⚙️) icon in the left sidebar
  2. In the Preferences sidebar, click AI Assistant
  3. In the Preferences page on the AI Assistant that opens, click the dropdown and select Enabled


If you want, you can also customize the AI Assistant with an Avatar and a Personality.


🪪 This feature requires a Curiosity Pro license.


How to Open the AI Assistant with a Shortcut

One great advantage of using the AI Assistant in Curiosity is that you can get the power of ChatGPT instantly by just using a shortcut.


To use the AI Assistant with a shortcut:


  1. Use the Alt + Space shortcut (Windows) or ⌥ + Space (Mac) to open the Command Bar
  2. Type AI Assistant and hit Tab to select
    (Hint: you don't need to type the full words, you can already select it when it appears on the menu as you type)
  3. Talk to the AI Assistant from there to generate and re-write ideas and texts, generate code, get translations, summaries and much more.
  4. Hit Enter after you write your command and see the magic happen.



How to Auto-Reply to Emails

You can use the AI Assistant in Curiosity to auto-answer your emails effortlessly, and get those messages off your to-do list even quicker.


To auto-reply to emails with the AI Assistant:

  1. Click on an email
  2. Select a tone (from 🎉 to 👎)
  3. Instantly generate a professional response
  4. Tell the app which points to include in your response
  5. Edit the final result before sending it out



How to Search Past Conversations

All your chats with the AI Assistant are searchable through Curiosity, so you can easily resume a past conversation or copy/paste responses at anytime.


To search through past chats with the AI Assistant from the Command Bar:


  1. Press Alt + Space (Windows) or ⌥ + Space (Mac) to open the Command Bar
  2. Type your search keyword(s)
    As you start typing, you will see top search results appear in the dropdown. The chat results will show the icon of the AI Assistant on the left.


Alternatively, you can search your chats directly from the app. This way you'll get a preview of the results and you can use Filters.


To search through past chats from the app:

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Space (Windows) or ⌥ + ⌘ + Space (Mac) to open the app
  2. Click on Search in the left bar
  3. Type your search keyword(s) and hit Enter



How to Talk to Files


With our AI assistant, you can talk to your indexed files, ask questions about them, and get answers in seconds! And accuracy is guaranteed with automatic references.


To talk to files with the AI Assistant:


  1. Find your file through the Search bar on the app
  2. Click on it to preview the document
  3. Click on the magic wand icon, Ask AI Assistant, on the top right.
  4. Type your query about the file and press Enter


The answer will appear shortly, with a reference to where it was found on the document and a direct link to it.




⚠️ Your chats are not visible to us at Curiosity. However, they may be used by OpenAI according to their privacy policy.
