Updating the Curiosity app lets you get the latest features and bug fixes.

How to update the Curiosity app



The Curiosity app will automatically update itself regularly.

To manually check for updates, you have three options:
Using Preferences
Using the Command Bar
Re-installing from the website

How to update the app using Preferences



To check for updates using Preferences:
In the left menu, click the cog (⚙️) icon to open Preferences
Go to the section About in the left sidebar
Click the blue button to Check for updates

The app will check for updates. If an update is available it will begin downloading. When it has finished downloading, the app will prompt you to install the update.

How to update the app using the Command Bar



To check for updates using the Command Bar:
Hit Alt + Space to open the Command Bar
Type Update and select Check for updates in the results

The app will check for updates. If an update is available it will begin downloading. When it has finished downloading, the app will prompt you to install the update.

How to update the app from the website



To update the app you can also install a new version from the Website:
Quit the Curiosity app and make sure no Curiosity processes are running using the Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac).

💡 You can install over an existing installation.

💡 Installing a new version from the website will preserve your index, i.e. you won't need to re-index all your data.
