Curiosity is a desktop search app that helps you quickly find files, emails, and other important information on your computer. We're excited to have you on board and can't wait to help you get started.

Download and install

To start using Curiosity, download the app from our website and install it on your computer. Then start the app to connect things and start searching.

Connect Your Apps

To connect your folders and apps to Curiosity, open the app and click on the + sign next to Apps in the left sidebar. That will take open a page to connect apps like your email accounts, cloud drives, and more.

You can learn more about connecting apps in the Connect Apps section of the user guide.

Once you've connected your apps to Curiosity, the app will begin indexing your content. That may may take some time (a few hours), during which you may notice the app using a lot of CPU. That's normal and CPU usage will drop to almost zero after indexing is finished. To avoid slowdowns you can schedule indexing times. Contact us if you need further assistance.

Search using Curiosity

To search for files, enter keywords into the top search bar. Curiosity will then search whatever apps and folders you you connected for matching files. If you get too many results, you can also filter your search results.

Use the same method to search also works for emails, messages, contacts, and your clipboard history.

Use the Quick-Access Command Bar

To quickly search from anywhere, use the command bar.

To open the command bar, press the Alt+Space (⌥+Space on Mac) keyboard shortcut.

In the command bar that opens, type your keywords and hit Enter. Curiosity will do a search and display the results in a pop-up window.
